1st video game, as far as we know, Summer 1952, Draughts (American English: Checkers, German: Dame) by Christopher S. Strachey in Alan Turings labs on a Mark II computer. There he also programmed the computer to play "God Save the Queen". Probably the first time a computer played music.
I guess on the first computers with CRT, end of the 1940s, someone programmed something interactive just for fun. So there was a video game before, but no evidence anymore.
